Description
We would recommend treating all breeding stock 10-14 days before mating. This can be followed by 3 days of Harkavit (multivitamins) in the water. Race birds can be treated again before racing commences.
It isn`t advisable to treat young birds at weaning with 3in1, but half a tablet of Spartrix for Canker can be given if necessary. Worms and Coccidiosis are not usually passed directly from the parent stock.
3 in 1 tablets can be effective for up to 8 weeks but this can depend on the loft enviroment as some suffer with worms, coccidiosis and canker more than others. In such cases the birds need to be treated on a more regular basis especially during the racing season.
Individual medications like Spartrix for Canker, Coxitabs for Coccidiosis or Harkaverm for worms can be used for specific problems.
It is advisable to follow all treatments with a course of Harkavit in the drinking water. The use of Loft Treatment (dry disinfectant) around the nesting and perching areas will reduce the risk of further infection.
